Oceans
03:29
|
|||
With this unbearable silence
You will Devour us both
All the cold limitations
And fictions that leave us alone
Head now for the shoreline
Yeah, right for the coast
Skim past the beaches
And right for the shoals
But you won't get far
This silence is taking us home
No you won't get far
But oh you have grown
The sail was just paper
With these pieces of twine for rope
Caught in the baseboards
The life I have built in my poems
And the wind in your hair
Just a sign of the explosion
And the salt on my lips
Just the remnants of your ocean
But you won't get far
This silence is taking us home
No you won't get far
But oh you have grown
Oh you have, you have grown

Delete You
03:47
|
|||
Small streams of light
My cones and rods flipping you
And bringing you inside
From your, tiny screen
With your, perfect teeth
Oh I wonder how long it'll be
Till I delete you?
You say everything with the things you take and the things you leave
You say everything with the way you feel and what is truth and what is real and what you can be
You say everything, with what is you and what is me?
And who are we
And what role do we play in the scheme
What do all these dreams mean?
Let the light in, abstract a memory
Find it hard to make scene
Just the right tint, the lens in focus
And all the things you make believe, are yourself
You say everything with the things you take and the things you leave
You say everything with the way you feel and what is truth and what is real and what you can be
You say everything, with what is you and what is me?
And who are we
And what role do we play in the scheme
What do all these dreams mean?

Little Boxes
02:28
|
|||
I've been awake, for 62 hours straight
Cause I've been waiting for you to say
"Come to bed it's getting late"
But I won't, cause I'm stoned
And you'll fall asleep alone and dream of other men
And I'm to blame
I'd been astray,
Since you ran off to the mountains
And didn't call for seven days
Just wanted you to come home
But I knew, all along,
That you were already gone
So I packed a little box with all your things
And I hated walking by
All the little things each day
Put them in that box
Till I'd washed you all away
And I can feel your heartbeat
When I walk into this house
And I miss you more than ever
But I don't ever want to see you around
You came home today
With scars all on your neck
And tried to lie to my face
About who you'd fucked and where you'd been
But I don't, Buy your shit
You hadn't Even read the script
It called for truth
But all you had was shame

A Death in the Valley
02:36
|
|||
The Sun dipped low in the valley
We huddled for warmth, we were freezing
Oh little lamb, how did you die here
On the altar made of ice, with a crow, he had no eyes to see
And as day turned into night
We waited for the horsemen out on the ice
As it began to rain we thought, my god
Go lightly into the dark I will not
We hadn't seen you in hours
We didn't find you in the river
We thought you might have died, so we prayed for you
Hung our heads and cried cause we might die too
So I had to look inside
My backpack for a knife and the will to survive
Breathing in the quickly fading light I knew
I'd make it home.
