I walk through the doorway of the house that used to be ours and the rich scent of her envelopes me. I see over the following weeks the small important things; in the cabinets, on the top shelves, under the sheets. Favorite ring, Abalone Gauges, nondescript necklace. All the nothings that were too insignificant to notice on the first pass. Dutifully I pack them in a small box to be left far in the back corner of the closet.
